Why I Shop Small + The Perfect Spring Dress

Hey y’all!

Is it just me, or did Friday get here so fast this week? It usually takes forever, so I’ll take it. It’s something like 31ish days until Kevin leaves to come home! Woohoo! From here on out I’m probably going to tell you how many days are left until he gets home in every blog post. Because I am just that excited, and I need everyone to know haha.

ANYWAY. What I’m really here to talk about today is shopping small/local. Does anyone else here love shopping in boutiques? I personally love it and prefer it to large department stores. One of my favorite things to do in college was to go downtown to all of the cute boutiques. I know. I was wild. I still really enjoy the Nordstroms and Anthropologies of the world (like a lot) but there is something special about small businesses. I have worked in both types of retail settings and the closeness and the community that comes from working in a small local business can’t be beat. It’s really cool to see a business grow from the ground up and know you played a part in making it successful, whether you work there or shop there. There’s nothing like walking into a small boutique where they know your name and your style and are so excited to help you shop. It’s a personal experience that can’t be matched at some of the bigger stores. And honestly, small stores are just much easier to shop in, am I right? They don’t overwhelm or waste 4 hours of your day while you make 3 trips around the place just to make sure you didn’t miss anything. (Does anybody else do that? I do that.)

I am so excited to share a new boutique that I discovered thanks to Instagram! Isn’t social media great? They are called Persuade Boutique and are based out of College Station, Texas. They have some of the cutest things, like this gorgeous metallic blue dress I’m wearing. It is literally the most perfect thing for spring, between the cold shoulder detail and the misty blue color. It’s great for datenight, church, and work. You can even dress it down with flat sandals if you want! Not only does it look great on, but it feels amazing. It’s so lightweight and comfy, making it ideal for warm weather.

My friends at Persuade were kind enough to give my readers a discount on their online purchase! Just visit their website, and when you’re ready to checkout, use my code “hayleyt” to receive 15% off!
