Happy Friday, friends!
I’m so happy to see you! Today I wanted to keep it kind of short and sweet and share one of my favorite style hacks: how to wear a button down three different ways. I seriously love getting as much wear as possible out of the things I buy. As I’ve mentioned before, I usually won’t buy it if I can’t wear it at least three ways. So today I’m showing you my absolute favorite top that I own and a few of the tricks I use to make it look different each time I wear it. This button down is from Madewell, and it is the absolute best quality. It is so soft and comfortable and I just love the way it hangs on the body. I used to wear this top to work ALL the time with dress trousers, but it can easily be dressed down, and that’s how I’m going to show it today!

1. Tuck it in
One of my favorite ways to wear pretty much any top, is to tuck it in. I’ve recently become obsessed with the half tucked in look. It’s so easy (as in you don’t have to spend 5 minutes in the bathroom trying to tuck it all the way back into your pants that are suddenly a little too tight after lunch) to just tuck the front in and go. It gives you the look of being slightly more put together without all the effort! It also breaks up your look a little if you just tuck the front part of your shirt in.
2. Tie it up
The knotted top is one of my favorite trends this year. I really love a top that gives me the option of tying it up or not, and a button down is perfect for this. By knotting the front, it immediately changes up the look of the top. If you fold under the back and then tie it, you can basically convert it to a crop top if you’re into that kind of thing. Totally different! This is so cute paired with high waisted bottoms of any kind. And to take it a step further, you can even wear this top over a dress and then tie it up just like I did here. So unique and adorable for spring!

3. Layer it
Another way that I love to wear button downs, is to layer them over a simple (or graphic) tee. This creates a super casual look, and again, it looks like a completely different outfit, in my opinion. Layers are a great option for spring, so this is an ideal outfit for cooler days. All of these tips can also be applied to long sleeve button downs. Just get creative with it, and most importantly, get the most wear out of what you already have in your closet!
What are some ways that you make your wardrobe go further? I’d love to hear your tips and tricks! Just leave your thoughts below in the comment box. As always, thank you for spending part of your Friday with me. I hope you have the best weekend!
