Hello there friends! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. It was pretty quiet around here, not that I minded at all. Friday we cooked at home and watched a lot of Netflix haha. On Saturday, we ran errands and did adult-y things including test driving cars! Kevin is looking into getting a truck soon, so we started looking around this weekend. I don’t know about y’all, but car-buying stresses me out! Sunday we went to church and then lazed around while it rained, which it’s been doing pretty much everyday lately.
As you probably know if you’ve been following for the last few weeks, I’m currently in the middle of a style challenge that I created for myself. Today I wanted to share a few of my picks for the challenge, and why I think they are some of the most versatile pieces you need in your closet.

4 Versatile Pieces You Need In Your Closet
So we all know my number one requirement before buying something new is versatility. I prefer to be able to wear it at least 3 ways so that my closet goes further throughout seasons. The things I’m about to share have been closet staples of mine for years and they haven’t steered me wrong yet! They have lasted and will last several years to come.
Chambray/Denim Button-Down
While I do love a good denim jacket, I think a chambray or denim shirt is way more practical. You can literally wear it year round if you choose a lightweight denim. It can be worn with pretty much anything you can think of. I personally love to wear them on top of tees or tied around my waist for a little extra detail. They can also last for a LONG time. I’ve had this same one for almost 4 years and I still wear it ALL the time.
Black Tees
You can truly never have too many black (or white) tees in your closet. It is the classic staple. There are so many different variations that it’s unlikely you have two that look alike (cropped, oversized, fitted, v-neck, etc.). Personally, I love this boxy, cropped version the most out of the ones I own. I love pairing it with high waist shorts, jeans, and skirts. I found this one at Forever 21 years ago for under $10, and I still wear it almost weekly.
Printed Shorts
First of all, sorry, but not sorry that you’ve seen these shorts so much lately. I can’t help it. I recently got these babies at H&M for UNDER $6 and I can’t stop wearing them. They’re basically a neutral thanks to the color combo and small pattern (which I love) so I keep finding things to wear them with. They have an elastic waist and are a soft knit material which makes them so extremely comfortable. (wearing a size XS.) They come in a few other solid colors too. Of course, denim shorts are a summer staple, but lately I’m way more into soft printed shorts like these. It just mixes things up and gives you way more outfit options. Plus, I like the challenge of coming up with new outfits with them haha.
Casual/Cute Sneakers
Another new favorite staple are these Adidas gazelle sneakers that I was lucky enough to snag during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. You guys, I am so into sneakers this year. I’m sure you’ve noticed that I wear these and my slip-ons just about everyday. Everyone needs a comfy pair of everyday neutral sneakers that don’t make you look like you’re about to go to the gym. These are casual but not overly sporty, so I really love pairing them with jeans and casual dresses.
