With Thanksgiving and Cyber week behind us, Christmas is officially in full swing! And with that comes all the parties and holiday festivities. For the last several years, one of the big trends has been to wear a tacky Christmas sweater to these parties, right? Well, I don’t really see that trend going anywhere. In fact, it’s almost easier to find yourself a tacky Christas sweater than it is to find regular party clothes these days haha. If you’re like me, you probably don’t want to wear the same sweater every year. But having to buy a new (and fairly pricey) tacky sweater every year that you will probably only wear once is just not ideal.
So. I have an idea. Don’t buy a new sweater every year! Today I’m going to share my alternative to the tacky Christmas sweater that I know you’ll love. Plus, I guarantee you’ll wear it more than once. Keep reading to find out what it is!

My Alternative to a Tacky Christmas Sweater
So what’s my alternative? A good holiday graphic tee + an oversized cardigan! So simple right?! Graphic tees are one of my favorite layering pieces ever, and they’re usually way more affordable than a sweater. And let’s be honest. We all need a Christmas Vacation tee. I actually WANT to wear this t-shirt like everyday haha, and I know I’ll get a lot of use out of it for the rest of the year. It’s stylish, festive, and practical! As for the oversized cardigan, they’re basically spilling out my closet this year already, so I didn’t even have to buy a new one for this purpose. I love this one though, because the oversized fit, the color, and the buttons still give off “tacky Christmas sweater” vibes.

About The Outfit
This might be one of my favorite outfits for the holiday season. I got this tee at our Holiday House, which is like a big convention center full of small businesses and brands that bring in their products for you to shop. The boutique was called The Refinery, which is based out of Arkansas. The tee itself is designed by another local business called Charlie Southern. They have some of the cutest and funniest graphic tees ever, like I want them all. I’m wearing a size Medium in this tee. You can also shop more from Charlie Southern here.
If you follow be on Instagram, you’ve probably seen this cardigan more than once over the last few weeks. Well here’s the story. I found it at Holiday House as well, but talked myself out of buying it. Then immediately regretted it. So I looked all over the internet for it and finally found it cheapest on what is mostly a moms and maternity site haha. I’m so glad I got it though because it’s the coziest thing in my closet currently, and I wear it almost everyday. I’m wearing a size small.

Loved your T-Shirt so much that I went to the website (through your link!) and bought one for myself. I bout the “Elf” t-shirt: “Smiling is my favorite.” Unfortunately I need a medium in the sweater and it appears to be sold out. 😔
