The Easter Dress Tradition
Happy Friday, friends, we made it! It’s hard to believe April is right around the corner. We’re about one month away from Easter, so it’s time to start looking for your Easter dress! I don’t know about you, but finding the perfect Easter dress was basically a tradition for me growing up, so why stop now? But after Easter was over I would find myself never touching the dress again because it was too dressy, I didn’t like it as much as I thought I did, or I just didn’t want to be an “outfit repeater” haha. That’s silly, I know, but surely I can’t be alone here.
I’ve since realized it’s not smart to buy things I’m only going to wear once. So not only am I showing you guys my Easter dress today. I’m also going to show you how to shop for special occasions the right way and then how to turn that dressy dress into the perfect casual spring outfit!

How to Shop For Special Occasions
A lot of times when we’re looking for something specific, whether it’s for an event or a holiday, I think we try a little too hard. We search for the perfect dress for X occasion and odds are you aren’t going to find exactly what’s in your head. We end up feeling rushed, and we make purchases we wouldn’t normally make if we didn’t feel like we had to buy something. Does that sound familiar? So next time you’re looking for THE dress, try to look past the one event or occasion you’re shopping for. Think ahead! Will you ever wear it again? Can you wear it more than one way? Does it really fit your style (fit, color palette, etc)? Is it in your budget? It’s important to plan so you don’t end up over budget or with something you don’t really like.

My Easter Dress from Chicwish
If you’re still looking for a dress for Easter, or for any spring event really, I highly recommend checking out Chicwish! They currently have some of the most gorgeous dresses and skirts. I chose this steel blue midi dress with a grid pattern to be my Easter dress, and I am obsessed. It is so incredibly flattering, and the high V-neck gives it the right amount of modesty for church! It would also be great for a spring/summer wedding. It is lightly lined in the skirt, but not in the top so you’ll want to wear nude underwear, but other than that, it’s pretty much perfect. I’m wearing a size S-M. I’ve paired it with my favorite new blush heels from Vionic. They are the most comfortable heels I own, and while you wear them, they form to your foot to make them the perfect fit for you!
Turn Your Easter Dress Into A Casual Spring Outfit
Once Easter is over, don’t go hide your dress in your closet. Wear it! There are a couple of simple ways you can turn a dressier dress into the perfect casual look for spring.
Change out your shoes.
It’s so easy to dress down an outfit with the right shoes. Throw on a pair of casual white sneakers with just about any dress, and it becomes extremely comfy and great for outdoor activities like festivals and farmers markets when the weather warms up! I will definitely be wearing this outfit to a farmers market or two!
Choose the right accessories.
You would think accessorizing would dress up your look even more, but it’s really just about choosing the right accessories. With this outfit, I chose simple, dainty jewelry instead of statement jewelry. Then I chose a straw bag which just screams casual beach day to me! I topped it off with the cutest little white hat, and added a brown belt to break up the dress. Ta da! Is this not the cutest little spring look ever?! It’s breezy and, in my opinion, more comfortable than shorts.
Add a layer.
I didn’t do this here, but you could easily add a denim jacket or a light sweater over your dressy dress to make it more casual. Plus it acts as another layer if you get chilly!

Hope you guys have the best weekend, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
