Hi guys! I hope you all had a wonderful, long July 4th weekend with family and friends! I know the work week after a long weekend/vacation can be so difficult to come back from, especially if you work a 9-5. Totally been there. The only thing that got me excited about going into work after a long weekend is a good outfit. Seriously though, it’s the little things. It’s been a minute now since I’ve worked in a corporate setting, and because of that I didn’t feel like I had a right to share workwear or office attire with y’all. But then I realized that was silly.
I worked in a corporate setting for almost two years, and if there’s anything I learned from it, it’s how to come up with stylish/comfy/office appropriate outfits that got me excited for the day. So I thought I would share a little bit of outfit inspiration for your work week in today’s blog post!

Workwear Doesn’t Have to Be Boring
It’s easy to think that because one works in a seemingly “stuffy” corporate setting, that getting dressed for work has to be boring and equally as stuffy. Not true friend! In most cases, unless you’re a big time lawyer or banker, you are not limited to a strict dress code where all you can wear is a power suit (not that I don’t love a good power suit!). These days, workwear options are endless and incredibly trendy, in my opinion. And if you’re good, you can get work and play outfits out of the same pieces.
My Go-To Workwear Pieces
the clothes
There are 3 pieces that I think are perfect for work AND play. They are all classic pieces that will take your wardrobe far. Not to mention, they’re extra stylish and comfy. Those items include a good pair or trousers (wide leg or tapered), a nice white top, and a boyfriend blazer (in plaid or a neutral). You can wear all of these things together, separately, year round, dressed up, dressed down, etc. You get the idea, the options are endless!
the shoes & accessories
As for the accessories, I like to keep it simple. All you really need is a good pair of comfy black heels (I prefer a pointed toe), a pair of flat, neutral mules, and a large tote to carry all of your junk. With these 6 items, you can create an array of timeless and office appropriate looks that make you feel like you can do just about anything.

About this Outfit
The top and bottoms I’m wearing in these photos are both from Chicwish. I love this simple white tank with the ruffle trimmed neckline. It’s so classic and can be work hundreds of ways. I am wearing a size small-medium. When I ordered the trousers, I wasn’t sure how I would like them, but I am in love guys. They are the most comfortable pants ever. The fabric is extremely cool against the skin, and the fit is great. I did size up to a Medium in these and they fit perfectly. There is a hook and eye closure and with an elastic waist in back. The belt is a little but long but nothing I couldn’t work with. The heels are old from Dillard’s and Louise et cie, one of my favorite dress shoe brands. Good news though they’re in stock and on sale!
