So in case you didn’t know by now, or are new here, ya girl loves some denim. I get lots of questions on where I get mine, so I thought it would be a good time to create a fall/winter denim guide for you all! This isn’t some comprehensive list of all of the jeans I own, or even love, but it is a guide of what I consider to be the foundation of a really good, well rounded denim collection. With these 6 pairs of jeans, you can do so much and create a ton of different looks from casual to dressy! You really don’t need ALL the jeans, if you have a few of the right jeans.

How I Shop For Denim
My picks in the guide below are all from different brands and price points. Not going to lie, I do tend to go for higher quality when it comes to my denim because I know they’ll last the longest, not to mention the overall fit and fabric quality is better. I will typically spend anywhere from $50-$130 on jeans. There are a few things that I always look for when it comes to my denim. I prefer a high to ultra high waist, a raw hem, ankle length, and soft denim with a decent amount of stretch.

Denim Guide: My Top 6 Denim Picks of 2019
Classic Slim
This pair by Paige are some of my favorites ever. I wanted a pair of Paige jeans for so long, and I finally broke down and got some this year. (Thanks Nordstrom notes.) Yes, they’re pricey, but you have to remember, they’re going to last you a while. What I love about these is the butter soft fabric. I also really love the raw hem and classic indigo wash. I wear a size 27 in these, which is pretty true to size for me.
The Mom Jean
The mom jean is one of my favorites because of how casual and comfy they are. These have a high rise waist with a super relaxed fit throughout. The wash and distressing on these makes them the perfect weekend look. Just pair them with a pair of sneakers and your favorite tee. I wear a size 4 short in these. I like the short length because they hit right at the ankle on me (I’m 5’5).
Black Skinnies
These high rise black skinnies from Madewell are the newest pair in my collection. I’ve had my eyes on these for a while, and finally went for it. Side note, one thing I love about Madewell is that you can recycle a pair of your old jeans with them and get $20 off your next pair from them. You can even use this online. So I snagged these with a $20 discount! They have a high waist, raw hem, and distressed knee details. These jeans fit like a glove! I wear them in a size 26, which is a size down. Madewell jeans tend to run a little big.
Distressed Skinnies
These Topshop skinnies are SO good, guys. Everyone needs a pair of good skinnies. They are you typical, everyday skinny with a little distressing at the knees and a super flattering fit. They have a high rise, and I wear a size 28 in these. Topshop jeans tend to run small.
Vintage Straight
In my opinion, these are the jeans that will never go out of style. They aren’t super skinny, and they aren’t relaxed either. Just a really good tapered straight jean. This particular pair comes in a vintage wash, which I personally love, but Madwell has these in other washes as well. Again, I wear a size 26 in these.
Wide Leg Crop
Last but not least, are the trendy wide leg cropped jeans. These are trendy now, but I feel like they have the potential to become a classic. What I love about the wide leg is it’s ability to balance out the body shape, especially if you’re like me and have hips. These from Abercrombie have an ultra high rise waist and a slightly cropped, raw hem. I wear a size 27 in these.
I hope you found this guide helpful! Which pair is your favorite? I’d love to know your thoughts on this post, and if you’d like to see more like it. Just leave me a note in the comments! Have a great weekend, friends!
