You guys know by now that there’s nothing I love more than a well-rounded wardrobe, full of staples and basics. It just makes life so much easier when you have a good base to work with when putting together an outfit, ya know? Today I’m so excited to be sharing a couple of my favorite, must-have winter basics from my friends at Mott & Bow!

About Mott & Bow
If you haven’t heard of Mott & Bow yet, I highly recommend checking them out! They have 32 years experience in the denim industry and are known for their casual comfort and premium, yet affordable denim. The family runs their own facility so they have a hand in every part of the process. This ultimately leads to better quality, less waste, and lower prices. Sustainable shopping is something I’m working on this year, so I personally love this about the company. Not only do they make great denim, they also have a selection of basics like cashmere sweaters and everyday tees. Seriously so many good things at amazing prices!

My Must-Have Winter Basics
While there are SO many good basics, there are a few that I think everyone needs in their winter wardrobe. Those include a cashmere sweater, a pair of quality (rip-free) denim, and a pair of white sneakers. I’m sure you aren’t shocked by that last one haha.
A Cashmere Sweater
This is a piece that is going to be an investment, but one that is so worth it. Cashmere sweaters like this one from Mott & Bow are incredibly warm, light weight, and perfect for layering in the winter. They are warm on their own, but if you need that extra layer, you can easily add it on top of a cashmere sweater. This one comes in several different colors and necklines, so there is something for everyone! I’m wearing a size medium.
Quality Denim
While I love a pair of ripped jeans, I think it’s so important to have a pair on hand that can be dressed up if necessary. This pair from Mott & Bow is the perfect medium-dark wash and is a great option for casual Friday at the office. They have great stretch so they’re super comfy and flattering. Because their jeans do stretch, I recommend sizing down one, especially if you go back and forth between sizes. I wear a size 26 in these jeans.
White Sneakers
Ok so I know I’m always talking about white sneakers, but I think they can be so underrated in the winter. They pair so well with skinny jeans and a sweater that I couldn’t not include them my must-have basics. Even though this post is specifically geared towards winter basics, you can easily wear white sneakers year round.
How to Style Your Winter Basics

Weekend Casual
This is an outfit that you’ll find me in weekly because that’s how much I love it. It works for almost any occasion thanks to the quality of the basics I’ve chosen. There is something so put together about a really nice black sweater and jeans. All I did was top off my basics with a lightweight overcoat, and of course my famous white sneakers for a simple, chic weekend look. You can easily dress it up by adding your favorite black heel!

Wear to Work
To wear your favorite basics to work, all you really have to do is add a great blazer and a heel. For the winter, I love a heeled knee high boot to make me feel extra stylish! Plus they tend to be much more comfortable for a full day on your feet. I topped the outfit off with a pair of trendy blue light glasses that are perfect for a long day at the office.

Which outfit is your favorite?! I hope this little guide helps you get a better idea of how to wear your winter basics and that you’ll give Mott & Bow a try for your next denim purchase. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
