Born and raised in small town Mississippi, currently residing in Little Rock, Arkansas. Wife to Kevin, puppy mama to Wrigley and Rue (they’re the cutest), lover of all things fashion, and avid baseball fan.
A Little Background Info:
I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2014 with a degree in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising. I have a background in styling, social media, website management, SEO, and the list goes on. I feel like I’ve seen so many sides of the industry at a relatively young age, and I love them all! My path has been anything but normal, but I wouldn’t change it for a second, because I truly believe that it brought me to my true love — my husband, Kevin. We talk all the time about how if I hadn’t had the job that I did at the time (you guessed it, in the fashion industry), we would have never met. Kevin is an Air Force pilot, and I still can’t believe it sometimes when I tell people we met in my home town. I NEVER thought I would find someone in that tiny town that I’d lived in for forever… I mean, afterall, I knew EVERYONE in it. But God has a funny way of showing you who’s actually in charge of your path. Kevin and I met while he was in pilot training in my hometown. And he is why I’m where I’m at today. His first assignment was Little Rock, which was a blessing in itself. It was literally the closest we could have been to each other out of all of his possible first assignments. Fast forward almost 2 years later, and here we are! We got engaged New Years Eve 2016 and were married September 2017.
I always told myself I could not and would not be a military spouse, but again, God has a funny way of showing you who’s boss. Yall, let me tell you, military life is HARD. There has been a serious learning curve. I’m learning to be independent in a different kind of way (I thought I had that part of my life mastered), and I’m dealing with being away from all of my family and friends for the first time ever. I have a full time job, I have two little pups to take care of, and I’m making all new friends. That’s alot for one introvert to handle. So, I say all of that to say this: It’s hard. But it’s worth it. And I refuse to let the hard days and the long deployments take my joy or my passion.
This is where Style Worthy comes in. It’s two-fold, really. I want this to be somewhere I can come when I need an outlet, creative or otherwise, especially when Kevin is gone. I want it to be a place where you can come to be inspired. Inspired to be yourself, to find your style, and to embrace it. Because you are worth it, and I truly believe that the perfect outfit can turn your day around. Finally, I want it to be a place for military spouses to come and feel like they aren’t alone, because every deployment is a beast of its own, no matter how many you have to go through. So I hope you join me on this crazy adventure, and I hope you feel inspired, encouraged, and beautiful when you leave here.
